THINGS TO CONSIDER

Enigma:

Including Enigma would be to create a sense of mystery in the music video; something to give an audience to continue watching for.

In my music video I plan on using Enigma on the mystery of what my character plans to do following his breakup, who his partner is and what the ending suggests.

Camera Work and Editing:

How the video is filmed, lit and edited (Eg. One uncut clip, heavily quickly edited, black and white or in colour)

From my filming plan, I aim to have just under 50 clips, where I’ll edit them together to form my music video which should be just over 3 minutes long. My video will be in colour and will be mainly filmed at night, using streetlamps, and bright battery powered lights to make sure it's lit up.

Star Image and Characters:

The music video will feature one main character, played by me. However, there are multiple versions of this character; a dark version (going through the break-up), a light version (a fictitious version of what the relationship could have been if it had not gone toxic) and a flashback version (depicting a moment in their relationship)

There will also be another character featured in the music video, the main character’s partner. He is intentionally not in the majority of the video to create a sense of mystery but he shows up in the end in something of a hallucination/dream like state.

Lip Syncing:

I aim to have two versions of the main character in my music video; a dark version (the person who is going through the heartbreak and devastation) and a light version (the version of the person where the relationship remained healthy and functional. Both versions of this character (both played by me) will be lip syncing but in contrasting moods.

Costume:

Main Character’s 3 Wardrobe, Partner’s Wardrobe

The dark wardrobe would feature more serious and gloomy colours like Black, Red and Dark Green, symbolising the pain and anguish he is going through.

The light version would feature brighter and upbeat colours like Light blue and White, symbolising the purity of what could have been his relationship.

There will be a flashback featured in the music video, to a time where the main character and his partner are supposed to meet at a location. He will be dressed in a semi-formal attire for this scene.

The partner will only be featured once, at the end and his wardrobe will include: a white shirt, white trousers and white shoes. His wardrobe will be entirely white as his appearance is almost dream-like, also symbolising purity (matching a with the light version of the character) and more of a thought of what could have.

Location:

I will be using a variety of locations, in order of appearance:

A luxurious Bungalow [EVENING], The inside of a Corvette Stingray [NIGHT], A park [NIGHT], Road junction [NIGHT]

Mise-en-scene:

A golden necklace is featured, this necklace belongs to the character’s partner and thus holds significant sentimental value to that relationship.

I used bright camping lights to make it seem like they were orbs of light (due to the surrounding darkness.

I heavily utilised a dark red Corvette Stingray as the car my character drives

Some other notable props are a duffel bag and a can of beer (filled with water in scenes of drinking).
